Have you saved a dozen AI tutorials but never found the time: or confidence: to begin?
Maybe you watch people create polished images, videos, presentations, songs, and business content with AI. You think, I should probably learn that. Then another tool appears. Another update arrives. Another expert says you need to move faster.
It is easy to feel behind.
But here is the truth: you do not need to catch up alone, and you do not need to learn everything at once.
You need a clear starting point, a supportive guide, and a regular opportunity to practice.
That is the difference between collecting tutorials and building confidence.
AI is moving quickly. You are not failing.
AI is changing how people work, create, communicate, and solve everyday problems. That pace can feel exciting: but it can also feel like too much.
You may be thinking:
- "I am not technical enough."
- "I do not know which tool to learn first."
- "What if I click the wrong thing?"
- "I am too busy for another course."
- "Everyone else seems further ahead."
- "I am not creative enough to use AI well."
Let's answer those concerns plainly.
You do not need to be highly technical.
You do not need to be an artist, business owner, or content creator.
You do not need previous AI experience.
You do not need to understand every platform before you begin.
You simply need a place where you can ask questions, try something new, and receive help when the next step is unclear.
That is what beginner AI classes should provide.
Watching AI tutorials is not the same as using AI
A tutorial can show you what a tool does. It cannot always help you apply that tool to your own goals.
You may understand a demonstration while watching it, then open the platform yourself and wonder:
- What should I type?
- Where do I begin?
- Why does my result look different?
- How do I fix what is not working?
- Is this tool even useful for me?
That gap between watching and doing is where many people get stuck.
Solo tutorials give you information. A guide in the room helps you turn information into action.
Watching creates familiarity. Practicing creates confidence.
Collecting tools creates clutter. Learning a clear weekly rhythm creates progress.
At Josie Mae Creative Lab, we believe practical participation matters. You learn by trying, experimenting, troubleshooting, and applying: not by sitting on the sidelines hoping confidence arrives first.

You do not have to figure it out by yourself
Searching for a creative workshop near me often means you want more than a lecture. You want an environment that feels welcoming, useful, and manageable.
You want someone to slow down when you need it.
You want permission to ask the question that everyone else may be thinking.
You want to leave with more than notes. You want to know, I actually did this.
That is the heart of the JMAIA Hybrid Cohort.
The program combines online access to the Josie Mae AI Academy with weekly, in-person Guided Implementation Sessions at Josie Mae Creative Lab in Matteson, Illinois.
You learn online at your own pace.
Then you bring that learning into the studio, where we practice together.
You can ask questions.
You can work through a real example.
You can experiment without needing to look like an expert.
You can troubleshoot with support instead of closing the laptop in frustration.
You will not have to figure it out alone.
A weekly rhythm makes AI feel more manageable
When AI feels overwhelming, the answer is usually not more information. It is a better structure for using the information you already have.
The JMAIA Hybrid Cohort follows a simple rhythm:
1. Learn online
You receive access to the Josie Mae AI Academy and complete the week's lesson at your own pace.
2. Practice in person
Each Tuesday, we meet at Josie Mae Creative Lab for a 90-minute Guided Implementation Session. You apply the lesson through demonstrations, hands-on practice, exercises, and real-world examples.
3. Ask and troubleshoot
Time is built in for questions, problem-solving, and individual support. If something feels confusing, you have a place to work through it.
4. Apply it to your life
You explore how AI can support your work, business, creativity, productivity, personal projects, or everyday tasks.
That is a much calmer path than trying to master every new tool in isolation.
Learn it online. Practice it in person. Apply it in real life.
What you will explore during the 12 weeks
The JMAIA Hybrid Cohort introduces you to 11 AI platforms across three practical phases.
FAB 5: Build your foundation
You will explore:
- ChatGPT
- MidJourney
- Canva
- Suno
- Gamma
These tools can support writing, brainstorming, image creation, design, music, presentations, and idea development.
SPECIAL OPS: Expand what you can create
You will also explore:
- ElevenLabs
- HeyGen
- Heyzine
These platforms introduce AI-powered voice, video, avatars, and interactive digital content.
LEVEL UP: Polish and share your work
You will learn about:
- Beacons
- CapCut
- Opus Clips
These tools can help you package, edit, repurpose, and share your AI-assisted creations.
You are not expected to become an expert in all 11 platforms. The goal is to understand what each tool can do, discover which ones fit your needs, and build enough confidence to make informed choices.
You will learn the capability: not just the platform.

No experience needed. Really.
If you have been looking for an art studio for adults because you want to learn in a relaxed, creative environment, you will feel at home here.
You do not have to identify as creative.
You do not have to own a business.
You do not have to bring a polished idea.
You do not have to know what questions to ask before you arrive.
You only need curiosity.
Our small-group setting is designed to make participation comfortable and personal. You will have room to learn at a manageable pace, receive guidance, and see other beginners working through their own questions.
Sometimes someone else's question helps you understand something you were hesitant to ask. Sometimes seeing another participant try a new tool gives you the courage to try it too.
Learning together changes the experience.
It turns uncertainty into conversation.
It turns confusion into a next step.
It turns "I do not think I can do this" into "Wait: I created that?"
A creative workshop for adults who want useful skills
The JMAIA Hybrid Cohort is not about chasing trends or adding another complicated obligation to your calendar.
It is about learning practical AI skills you can use for:
- Career and workplace projects
- Small business ideas
- Marketing and content creation
- Personal productivity
- Creative hobbies
- Family and community projects
- Presentations and planning
- Music, images, video, and storytelling
You may arrive with one specific goal.
You may arrive unsure what you want to make.
Both are welcome.
The process gives you space to discover what AI can do while keeping your human judgment, imagination, and intention at the center.
AI provides possibilities.
You provide the perspective.

But every confident AI user had a first prompt.
Every finished project began with uncertainty.
Every useful skill started with someone asking, "Can you show me how?"
You do not need to know everything before you take your first step. You do not need to arrive prepared. You do not need to prove that you belong in the room.
You can begin curious.
At Josie Mae Creative Lab, we are here to help you move from "I don't know if I can do this" to "I can't believe I created this!"
The first step is simply showing up curious.
