Online Learning Meets In-Person Support
The JMAIA Hybrid Cohort is a 12-week, beginner-friendly AI learning experience designed for people who want more than another online course sitting unfinished in their library.
When you enroll, you'll receive immediate access to the complete Josie Mae AI Academy, featuring training across 11 platforms. Then every Tuesday evening, we'll meet at Josie Mae Creative Lab in Matteson, Illinois for a 90-minute Guided Implementation Session.
STEP 1
LEARN
Complete the assigned Academy lesson online at your own pace.
STEP 2
PRACTICE
Spend the first 60 minutes of Tuesday's session applying the week's learning through demonstrations, guided practice, exercises, and real-world applications.
STEP 3
GET SUPPORT
The final 30 minutes are reserved for optional Q&A, troubleshooting, and additional support. If you don't need additional help that week, you're free to head home.

Most of the platforms featured in the Academy currently offer free access or free plans. Midjourney currently requires a paid subscription and is OPTIONAL. Students are not required to purchase Midjourney to participate in or successfully complete the JMAIA Hybrid Cohort.
During the Midjourney lesson, students will still learn about the platform, see it demonstrated, and have the option to use a free alternative for hands-on practice. Because AI platforms, features, and pricing change frequently, students will also learn how to evaluate tools and determine which ones are worth investing in based on their individual needs and goals.

CPD-Accredited Professional AI Course Included
Included at no additional cost for the Founding Cohort.
This professional-development course goes beyond learning individual AI platforms and explores the responsible, strategic, and professional use of artificial intelligence.
The course concludes with an Applied AI Strategy Capstone Project focused on responsible AI use, professional judgment, ethical awareness, human oversight, and practical application.
Students must successfully complete the applicable CPD course requirements to earn the professional credential. Enrollment in the Hybrid Cohort does not automatically confer a credential.
You're Not Just Watching. You're Doing.
One of the biggest differences between completing an online course alone and participating in the JMAIA Hybrid Cohort is live implementation support. Every Tuesday, you'll have an opportunity to bring what you've learned into Josie Mae Creative Lab and actually work with it.
Watching someone use AI and actually using AI yourself are two very different things.
Your 12-Week Journey
STAGE 1
BEFORE WE BEGIN
Complete a short AI Confidence Survey to establish your starting point and identify what you'd most like to accomplish.
"What do you want AI to help you accomplish by the end of these 12 weeks?"
STAGE 2
DURING THE COHORT
Work through the online Academy lessons and attend weekly Guided Implementation Sessions. Experiment, create, ask questions, troubleshoot, and discover which AI tools make the most sense for you.
STAGE 3
AT THE END
Complete the post-program AI Confidence Survey so you can reflect on your progress and see how far you've come. Then we celebrate.
AI IN ACTION SHOWCASE
Featuring the JMAIA Founding Hybrid Cohort
At the conclusion of the program, students will have an opportunity to showcase what they've created and share how they've applied AI during their 12-week journey. The AI in Action Showcase is planned to also serve as a Josie Mae Creative Lab Open House, welcoming invited guests to experience the Lab, celebrate the Founding Cohort, and learn about future creative and AI learning experiences. Selected portions may also be shared virtually.
