You've been searching for beginner AI classes.

Maybe you've searched "AI classes near me." Maybe you've watched a few videos, saved a few posts, or heard someone talk about prompts, AI images, automation, and content creation.

And maybe you still haven't signed up.

    You might be wondering:

    • Am I technical enough?
    • What if everyone else knows more than I do?
    • Do I need a business idea?
    • Do I need to be creative?
    • What if I fall behind?
    • Is a class really worth it when there are free videos online?

Here's the answer: You are probably more ready than you think.

You do not need to know everything about AI before joining an AI workshop for beginners. You only need curiosity, a willingness to practice, and the right kind of support.

What should you look for in beginner AI classes?

Not every class is designed for a true beginner. Before you register, look for an experience that helps you move from uncertainty to action.

    1. A small group where questions are welcome

Large online libraries can give you information. They do not always give you confidence.

A small group creates room to ask questions, try again, and learn at a manageable pace. You can say, "I'm not following this yet," without feeling like you are interrupting the entire class.

At Josie Mae Creative Lab, the cohort is intentionally small. You will have space to participate, practice, and receive personal guidance.

    2. Live human guidance

AI tools change quickly. Buttons move. Features update. Accounts work differently from one platform to another.

That is why live support matters.

A strong beginner AI class gives you a real person who can demonstrate the process, explain unfamiliar terms in plain language, and help you troubleshoot when something does not work as expected.

You won't have to figure it out alone.

    3. Hands-on practice instead of lecture-only learning

Watching someone use AI is different from using it yourself.

A helpful class should give you time to:

    • Follow a demonstration
    • Complete guided exercises
    • Experiment with different prompts
    • Ask questions
    • Practice with real tools
    • Apply what you learned to your own goals
    • Troubleshoot with support nearby

The JMAIA Hybrid Cohort uses the first 60 minutes of each Tuesday session for demonstrations, exercises, and real-world application. The final 30 minutes are reserved for optional Q&A and troubleshooting.

Learn it online. Practice it in person. Apply it in real life.

    4. A path from learning to using

You do not need to become an expert in every AI platform.

You need to understand what a tool can help you do and how to begin using it with intention.

JMAIA introduces 11 AI platforms across three phases:

    FAB 5

    • ChatGPT
    • Midjourney
    • Canva
    • Suno
    • Gamma

    SPECIAL OPS

    • ElevenLabs
    • HeyGen
    • Heyzine

    LEVEL UP

    • Beacons
    • CapCut
    • Opus Clips

The goal is not to collect platforms. The goal is to discover which tools fit your work, creativity, everyday life, or personal projects.

    5. No gatekeeping or unnecessary jargon

Beginner-friendly means more than placing the word "beginner" in a course title.

Look for clear explanations, supportive instruction, and realistic expectations. You should not need to understand advanced coding, business strategy, design theory, or technical vocabulary before you begin.

No previous AI experience is required for JMAIA. You do not need to own a business. You do not need a creative background.

You simply begin where you are.

Signs you're more ready than you think

Still unsure? Let's answer the most common objections directly.

    "I'm not technical."

That is exactly why beginner AI classes exist.

You do not need advanced computer skills or coding experience. You need to be willing to click, type, follow instructions, and ask for help when something feels unfamiliar.

Technical confidence grows through repetition. You do not have to arrive with it fully formed.

    "I'm not creative."

Creativity is not limited to people who draw, paint, write songs, or call themselves artists.

Creativity can look like solving a problem, organizing an idea, imagining a better process, telling a story, or exploring a possibility.

You do not need to identify as creative to participate. In fact, a guided creative workshop for adults can be a comfortable way to discover creativity through practice rather than pressure.

    "I don't have a business."

You do not need a business to learn AI.

You might want to use AI for:

    • Career development
    • Productivity
    • Personal projects
    • Content creation
    • Learning and research
    • Everyday tasks
    • Creative exploration
    • Future business ideas

JMAIA is designed to help you explore practical uses that fit your life, not force you into one specific outcome.

    "I don't have a clear goal yet."

    That is okay.

You can begin with curiosity. As you explore different tools, you may discover a goal you had not considered before.

Maybe you enjoy creating images. Maybe you want to organize your ideas. Maybe you want to make a presentation, edit a video, produce a song, or build a simple online presence.

You do not need a perfect plan before your first class. The learning process can help you create one.

    "I'm already behind."

You are not behind. You are beginning.

The JMAIA Hybrid Cohort is structured so that you learn online and then practice in person. If you arrive during the current ramp-up window, we will help you understand where to start and how to move forward.

Progress does not require knowing everything at once.

Free videos versus guided classes: watching or doing?

Free videos can be useful. They can introduce you to new tools and help you understand what is possible.

But watching is not the same as doing.

    Free videosGuided beginner AI classes
You choose from endless topicsYou follow a clear learning path
You pause when confusedYou can ask questions in real time
You practice when you rememberYou have scheduled time to apply what you learn
You troubleshoot aloneYou receive live support
You collect informationYou build practical confidence

The difference is not that free content has no value. The difference is structure and follow-through.

JMAIA combines access to the Josie Mae AI Academy with weekly Guided Implementation Sessions. You learn at your own pace online, then bring your questions and practice into the studio.

That rhythm helps turn "I watched a video about AI" into "I know how to try this."

    What will you actually experience?

Your 12-week journey follows three practical stages.

    1. Learn

You complete lessons through the Josie Mae AI Academy online. The lessons introduce the platforms, possibilities, and foundational skills.

    2. Practice

You attend the Tuesday evening Guided Implementation Session at Josie Mae Creative Lab. You follow demonstrations, complete exercises, and work with the week's tools.

    3. Apply

You explore how AI can support your own goals. You can experiment, ask questions, troubleshoot, and identify the tools that make sense for you.

The cohort also includes access to the CPD-accredited Professional AI Course at no additional cost. The professional course covers responsible and strategic AI use, professional readiness, AI literacy, ethics, human creativity, and more. Participants must complete the applicable course requirements to earn the professional credential.

The program wraps with an AI in Action Showcase, giving you an opportunity to reflect on what you learned and share how you applied AI during the cohort.

    One note about platform subscriptions

You do not need to purchase every platform in the program.

Most featured platforms currently offer free access or free plans. Midjourney is optional and currently requires a paid subscription. You are not required to purchase Midjourney to participate in or successfully complete the cohort.

It will be demonstrated in class, and a free alternative will be available for hands-on practice. You will also learn how to evaluate tools and decide which ones are worth investing in based on your own needs.

That is part of becoming confident with AI: learning the capability, not blindly buying every platform.

Is this the right time to join?

If you have been waiting until you feel completely prepared, you may wait forever.

    You do not need:

    • Previous AI experience
    • A business
    • An art background
    • A polished goal
    • Paid subscriptions to every tool
    • Technical expertise
    • Confidence before you begin

You do need a willingness to learn, practice, and participate.

The JMAIA Hybrid Cohort began September 8, 2026, and late arrivals are warmly welcomed during the ramp-up window.

You do not have to know everything before you begin

Maybe your starting point is "I don't know if I can do this."

That is a valid place to start.

With guidance, practice, and a welcoming group around you, that feeling can become: "I can't believe I created this."

You do not need to know everything before taking the first step. You only need somewhere supportive to begin.
